The Youth and Senior Empowerment Foundation primary goal is to work collaboratively with teachers, tutors, coaches and volunteers to service youth and senior citizens. We want to make sure they all are achieving their fullest potential emotionally, mentally and socially. Our establishment provides different services and activities to ensure these needs are met. The Youth and Senior Empowerment Foundation’s mission is to make the world a better place through small acts of kindness. Assisting the Youth and Seniors will have a lasting positive change in the enhancement of their lives and circumstances. Our foundation strives to address the youth and seniors needs accordingly. We present a variety of activities that will help the youth thrive and learn important skills that will carry over into adulthood.

Many of today’s youths are secretly struggling with mental health, peer pressure, and difficulty dealing with societal changes. The prevalence of depression, anxiety, financial hardships, and suicide is alarming. Lack of available resources, community centers, after school sports and programs in many neighborhoods, worsen the problem. We aim to change that by creating a safe enriching environment where after school services and activities are provided to help youths flourish in innumerable ways. A huge stressor is school grade performance. We aim to have experienced teachers, tutors, and volunteers available to teach learning strategies and methods in all academic areas to help the youth improve academically. This enhances self-esteem, problem solving skills and confidence.

Seniors are an integral part of our society who deserve to be respected and recognized as such. Many seniors suffer from mental health due to age, disease, or isolation. Many seniors lack basic personal needs due to financial hardships. We help and provide them with personal hygienic supplies and other needed items.

Every senior is important and receives our unconditional help and respect. Many seniors need help with basic things like filling out papers or forms. Our foundation provides form completion assistance. Our volunteers help seniors with housing, DSS, FS, Medicaid application forms. Y.S.E.F. plans activities and events where interested seniors can attend shared activities like book fairs, museums, art exhibits, movies, zoo and so forth. BINGO, Dominoes, other games and, activities are available. These trips, activities and events allow seniors to socialize, have fun while stimulating their minds.
